Doctoral study
Institute of Machine and Industrial Design offers doctoral study in the field of machine or industrial design. In general, the programme is research-oriented. The aim is to prepare students for independent fundamental and applied research and development. The standard length of the study is 4 years and it's mostly full-time. To get a Ph.D. the student has to pass selected courses, doctoral state examination and defend the dissertation thesis. In the dissertation thesis, the student has to critically review state of the art in the field and present his/her own contribution (results of the research). During the study, the student teaches in bachelor's and master's degree programmes, attends conferences and internships and publishes results of his/her research and development.

Submit your application online till the end of May. At first, choose the topic and the supervisor. Letter of intent, curriculum vitae and verified copies of university diplomas have to be attached to the application (diplomas have to be submitted during the registration to the study programme at the latest). The entrance examination may be waived in the following cases. High level of former education (e.g. graduation from a top university), excellent study results and two letters of recommendation from professors, who are cited in the Web of Knowledge - Thomson Reuters (and have h-index higher than zero). The last case is when the student is (co)author of an article in the ISI Web of Knowledge of Scopus.
